The logic is, if we (=the users) have to flag one of your posts as NSFW, you might have been sloppy with other posts too. And since you can change it back yourself, there's really nothing lost - in fact, the action of reverting your soup status will remind you to flag potential NSFW material yourself in the future.

At least that was the thinking. But the more users complain about this, the more I'm thinking we should move to some opaque invisible hand procedure like those that flickr, facebook, google etc employ. Users seem to have far less qualms when they're just silently disabled for the public :/
